"A World of Cages" ©

The story — in my words
I wrote this song during a season where I felt like every room I walked into had a ceiling that was getting lower. Everywhere I looked—from the 9-to-5 grind to the curated noise on our screens—it felt like we were being coached to stay small and predictable. I remember sitting in my studio, feeling that specific friction between who the world wanted me to be and who I actually was. I started with that line about being born into a system, and suddenly the metaphor of the 'cage' just poured out. We cut this in a way that feels like it’s physically breaking through a wall; I wanted the bridge to sound like a literal awakening. It’s for the ones who finally stopped asking for permission to be themselves.
