The story — in my words

I wrote this one late at night when the silence in my house felt a little too heavy with other people's expectations. I was sitting on my porch, thinking about everyone who told me to just 'settle down' and get a real job, acting like music was just some phase I’d eventually grow out of. We cut this track in a small studio outside of town, and I told the boys to keep the guitars thick and steady, like a heartbeat that won't quit. It’s a song for anyone who’s ever been looked at like they’re crazy for believing in something nobody else can see yet. Every time we play it, I’m reminded that those tears hitting the dirt aren't signs of weakness—they’re proof that we're still in the fight.
