The story — in my words
I wrote this song while sitting on a stained hotel mattress in a town I can't even remember the name of anymore. My phone battery was dying, and I'd just spent ten minutes listening to the static on a long-distance call with someone who felt a thousand worlds away. That specific ache—the kind where your heart actually thumps in time with a ticking wall clock—became the backbone of this track. We cut this in a small garage studio during a thunderstorm, and you can almost hear that electricity in the guitar solos. It isn't just a song about missing someone; it's a frantic demand to the universe to just let that person get home. I wanted it to feel like a high-speed chase across state lines, desperate and heavy with hope.
