The story — in my words

I wrote this one on a Tuesday morning in late October when the light hits the floorboards just right. I was sitting there with my coffee, watching the dust motes dance, and I realized how rarely we actually let ourselves be still with the people we love. My old 1970s acoustic was leaning against the wall, and that first line about the silver thread just fell out of me. We cut the track live in a small studio outside of town to keep that sense of a shared breath. It’s a song about that heavy, honest silence that happens right before the rest of the world wakes up and demands your attention. I wanted to capture that specific feeling of trying to freeze time before the seasonal shift takes everything away.
