The story — in my words

I wrote this song at a crossroads where I felt like I was just walking in circles, tired of the same old promises that never went anywhere. There’s a certain terrifying peace that comes when you realize the only way to move forward is to let the past go—completely. I was sitting with my guitar thinking about how we hold onto things that don't serve us just because they're familiar, like those 'stacks of promises and piles of lies' I mention in the verse. We cut this track with a raw, driving energy because I wanted you to feel that heat and the actual moment the match strikes. It’s not just about destruction; it’s about that beautiful, clear-eyed clarity you find in the ruins when the smoke finally clears and you’re free to build something real.
