I wrote this during a season when I felt completely paralyzed by my own thoughts. I was carrying around these heavy burdens like they were part of my identity, and honestly, it was dimming my light. I remember laying on the ground one afternoon, feeling the chaos of the world around me, and I suddenly saw the humor in it all. I realized the world wasn't going to change for me—I had to be the one to change how I saw the world. We cut this in the studio with a driving energy because I wanted it to feel like a breakthrough. It’s my way of saying that even after the fire and the flames, you can still choose to see the beautiful colors shining through the gray.
