The story — in my words

I wrote this one after spent a few too many years feeling like I was living someone else’s highlight reel. I remember sitting in my room, staring at the walls, and realizing that the only thing keeping me boxed in was my own fear of moving. We cut this track in a garage studio during a heavy summer rainstorm, and you can hear that restless energy in the guitars. It started as a way to vent about the people trying to direct my path, but it turned into a promise to myself. I wanted it to feel like that moment you finally hit 80 on a clear highway with the windows down—just that raw, sharp-edged realization that it's never too late to reclaim the person you were always supposed to be.
