The story — in my words

I wrote this one after a particularly heavy night in the city where it felt like the air itself was about to catch fire. We were spilling out of a dive bar just as the sirens started wailing, and there was this electric, dangerous friction between the kids on the street and the cops. I remember the smell of heavy smoke and the sound of glass shattering on the pavement. I wanted to capture that precise second where the adrenaline peaks—that 'manic stare' you get when you’re caught in the middle of a riot but you’ve never felt more alive. We cut the track with that same frantic energy, keeping the rhythm driving and relentless to match the feeling of running through the rain just to find one more spark before the sun comes up.
