Come Back, Baby! ©

The story — in my words
I wrote this song while thinking about how fast a night can fall apart over one stupid, prideful comment. I wanted to capture that specific, desperate physical sensation of standing on a slick city curb as you realize the person you love is actually leaving. We cut this in the studio with the idea of a band muffled through a brick wall, trying to mirror that feeling of the world moving on while your heart is stalling out in the street. I was picturing the way red taillights look on wet asphalt—beautiful, but devastating when they're attached to the cab taking her away. It's a song for anyone who has ever wished they could reach through a closing door and pull back every word they just said.
