The story — in my words
I wrote this one while I was stuck in a rainy city interior, watching the streetlights hit the wet asphalt and feeling a thousand miles away from the quiet of the Blue Ridge. I wanted to take those classic images we all know and filter them through the grit of the life I’ve actually lived. We cut the tracks in a small studio just outside of town, pushing for that heavy, driving rhythm that feels like tires humming on a long mountain stretch. It isn't just a song about a physical place; it’s about that 'mountain blood' that keeps thrumming in your veins no matter how much city smog you breathe. To me, it’s a prayer for the weary, a reminder that the high lonesome sound is always there to guide us back to the pines.
