The story — in my words

I wrote this one after watching a very stiff, very serious couple walk into a honky-tonk outside of Austin. They looked like they were heading to a funeral, all buttoned up and rigid. But three rounds of bourbon later, they were the absolute life of the party, stumbling over their own boots and laughing until they couldn't breathe. I wanted to capture that chemical shift—how a little bit of 'Texas amber' can turn a weeping willow into a wild colt. We cut this track with a lot of room mic to get that authentic, crowded bar feel. It’s a tribute to those messy, legendary nights where you don't care how you look on the dance floor as long as the rhythm has a hiccup and the heart feels light.
