The story — in my words

I wrote this song at two in the morning while staring at the blue light of a phone screen, feeling that specific kind of panic when you know someone is about to walk out the door for the last time. I wanted to capture the grit of the city—the rotting pine, the screaming wood, and that cold neon glow that makes everything feel like a clinical emergency. We recorded this to feel like a claustrophobic apartment; I wanted the listener to feel the oxygen failing in the room just like I did. It’s not a polite breakup song; it’s about the messy, toxic, and desperate anatomy of a heart that isn’t ready to let go of the venom quite yet. It’s the sound of someone begging for one more breath before the frequency drops to zero.
