The story — in my words
I wrote this song at a time when I finally stopped looking over my shoulder. For years, I let someone else’s anger define the space I lived in, and when I finally walked away, I didn’t just leave—I disappeared into a version of myself they wouldn't even recognize. We cut this in an afternoon where I wanted the vocals to feel like they were climbing out of a wreckage. It’s not just a song about survival; it’s about that moment you realize your scars aren't weaknesses, they’re actually fuel. I wanted to capture that specific weightlessness that comes when you realize the person trying to hurt you is still fighting a ghost, because the 'old you' just doesn't exist anymore. This was my way of taking the reins back for good.
