The story — in my words
I wrote this song on a Tuesday night after staring at a peeling wall in my office for twenty minutes straight. I realized I was becoming a professional at 'waiting'—waiting for a promotion, waiting for the weekend, waiting for some permission to actually pick up my guitar again. That line about my friend’s kid drawing him as a clock? That was a real conversation. It hit me that 'someday' is a trap that just gets narrower the longer you stay in it. We cut this track with a raw, driving energy because I didn't want it to be a sad song about burnout; I wanted it to be the sound of someone finally waking up and making a racket in their own living room. It's about taking the laundry off the chair and playing the music anyway.
