The story — in my words

I wrote this one late at night when a project I’d poured my soul into completely collapsed. I was sitting there in the wreckage, feeling like a total mess, when I realized that the sting of the loss was actually teaching me more than any of my wins ever had. The line 'failure is a teacher and a friend' came to me while I was looking at a literal pile of discarded drafts. I wanted to capture that transition from the heat of the 'flames' to the cool clarity of knowing what to do next. We tracked the guitars to feel like a slow climb—starting heavy and burdened, then opening up into that big, soaring chorus. It’s a reminder for me, and hopefully for you, that those scars we carry are just the maps that lead us to better roads.
