The story — in my words

I wrote this song at 4:30 AM when the air literally tasted like copper and the silence in my apartment felt heavy enough to crush me. I’d spent so long feeling like a ghost haunting my own hallway, just white-knuckling through the wreckage of a life I didn't recognize anymore. 'First Light' isn't about some gentle, peaceful sunrise; it's about that violent, jarring moment when your pulse finally synchronizes with the world again and you realize the 'deadwood is turning gold.' We tracked the vocals when I was still shaking off a fever, and you can hear that raw, desperate edge in the delivery. It’s the sound of the 'heavy lifting' finally paying off—the moment you stop just surviving the damage and start rewriting the map of home.
