The story — in my words

I wrote this on a particularly brutal Tuesday in November when the air felt like it was made of lead. I was walking along a creek bed near my house, watching the way the mud just seemed to swallow everything whole, and the phrase 'hollow feathers' kept circling my head. To me, this song is about that specific moment of total exhaustion where you stop fighting the current and just lay your head down on the stone. We cut the vocals in a single take because I wanted to capture that shivering, near-whisper quality of someone who has nothing left to say. It isn't just about sadness; it’s about the strange mercy you find when you finally stop trying to fly with broken wings and just let the winter take over.
