For years, my life was a rotation of bad hands, bitter whiskey, and that hollow feeling of looking for a jackpot to fix my soul. This song is about the moment the cards finally felt heavy in my hands and I just decided to leave them in the dirt. We cut this track with a steady, thumping beat to mirror that brand new rhythm in my chest—the sound of a man finally walking straight. It’s a love letter to the Texas soil and the wild, unexpected mercy that meets you right where you’ve been hiding.
