The story — in my words

I wrote this one early on a Tuesday when the sun was hitting the kitchen floor just right, making all those little dust motes dance in the light. I looked up at an old, faded picture on my fridge of me and Waylon back in the day—just a couple of kids trying to look tougher than we felt—and it hit me that those moments don't ever really leave you. We spend so much time mourning the past as if it's dead and buried, but I’ve found that the best parts of those years just settle deep in your bones like a slow-burning bourbon. We cut ‘Good Ol’ Days’ to feel like that friendly ghost of a memory that shows up when it rains. It’s a tribute to the tavern lights, the foolish dreams, and the quiet comfort of knowing where you came from.
