The story — in my words

I wrote this after sitting in a generic hotel lobby late one night, just watching the machinery of the place move. There was this humming ice machine that sounded like a medical monitor, and I started thinking about how quickly these safe, beige spaces can turn into scenes of absolute terror. It’s a song about that hyper-vigilance we all carry now—that feeling of looking for the exit sign before you even sit down. We recorded this with a lot of cold, metallic textures to mimic the sound of those hard equipment cases rolling over carpet. I wanted to capture that specific plea to a loved one: 'don't turn to furniture.' Don't let the weight of the world make you go numb or static. It’s a song about holding onto someone’s warmth when the red lights start to bloom.
