I wrote this one at four in the morning outside a gas station somewhere near the state line. I was staring at my reflection in a cracked rearview mirror, feeling every bit of the miles I’d traveled—not just the road, but the emotional weight of a relationship that had finally run out of gas. We cut this in an old converted barn, and I wanted that steady, rolling rhythm to feel like an old truck gaining speed as the sun breaks over the horizon. It isn't just a breakup song; it's a song about the exact moment you realize the road ahead is actually wider than the path you’ve been looking at in the mirror.
