The story — in my words
I wrote this one while I was actually behind the wheel, staring at that long stretch of asphalt that connects who I was with who I’m becoming. I was headed back toward Nashville, watching the taillights fade into the distance, and I realized that my life isn't measured in years, but in the miles and the stories I’ve picked up along the way. My old guitar was sitting in the passenger seat, and the rhythm of the tires started sounding like a melody. This track is my tribute to every person who feels a little lost but keeps driving anyway. We cut this to feel like that first breath of fresh air when you roll the windows down and finally see the city skyline on the horizon. It’s about the friends who stayed and the hope that keeps the engine running.
