The story — in my words

I wrote this one at 4:00 AM in a transit hotel near an airport, watching the red digital pulse of the clock bounce off the Gideon Bible in the nightstand. I was wearing these ridiculous silver sequined boots from the show earlier that night, feeling like a ghost in a bathrobe. Through the cracked door, I saw the housekeeper moving through the hallway with this incredible, quiet grace, stacking linens like they were clouds. To a guy who spends half his life in these sterile, gilded boxes, she didn't just feel like a staff member—she felt like a literal angel delivering mercy to the worn-out. We cut this track to capture that specific hum of the ice machine and that strange, holy moment of not being lonely anymore in a place designed for strangers.
