I Can't See The Light ©
by J. Michaels
The story — in my words
I wrote this during a week when the walls of my room felt like they were closing in. I was thinking about that specific, sterile hum of machines you hear in hospitals—that mechanical coldness that starts to sound like a voice after a while. The 'crimson light' came from a neon sign outside my window that bled through the glass at night; it was the only thing that felt alive in the room. This track isn't just about being sick; it’s about that desperate, almost animalistic instinct to cling to any kind of light, even if it's artificial or painful. We cut the vocals late at night to get that exhausted, raw rasp. It’s a song for anyone who has ever felt trapped in their own skin, just waiting for the fever to break.
