The story — in my words

I wrote this one after pulling into my own driveway at 4:00 AM, just watching the steam rise off a cold cup of coffee in the console. There’s a specific sound a diesel engine makes when it’s finally cooling down after five hundred miles—a kind of ticking, settling noise that tells you the work is done. I wanted to capture that transition from the hum of the highway to the silence of a screen door. It isn't just about driving; it’s about that moment you realize all those miles were just a means to get back to the only thing that actually keeps you grounded. We cut the track with that same heavy, rhythmic stomp to match the sound of boots on gravel, keeping it raw and unpolished, just like the life it describes.
