The story — in my words

I wrote this sitting on the floor of my living room when the house felt far too big. We cut the vocals in one take because I wanted to capture that specific, shaky feeling you get when you realize you didn't hold someone when you had the chance. The line about the empty hangers was real—it's those small, physical gaps in your life that hurt more than the big arguments. I was pacing in my stocking feet, just listening to the rain, feeling like a fool made out of stone. This song isn't about a grand romantic gesture; it's about the quiet, agonizing realization that you let the best thing in your life walk out the door while you just stood there and watched.
