The story — in my words
I wrote this song on one of those quiet, heavy nights where the silence in the house felt louder than any music could be. I was sitting there staring at the walls, thinking about how you can give someone your absolute best—your heart, your soul, your trust—only for them to take a hammer to it and then blame you for the cracks. It’s about that specific sting of being abandoned by someone who overthought the love until they killed it. When we tracked this, I wanted that transition from the raw ache of the 'wreckage' to that defiant realization that I’m going to be okay. It’s hard to close a chapter when you didn't want the book to end, but sometimes being all alone is the only way to finally hear your own voice again.
