The story — in my words
I wrote this piece late one night when the city felt less like a home and more like an anchor. I was thinking about how loving someone—really staying committed to them—can sometimes feel like you’re defying the basic physics of modern life. Everything around us is designed to pull us apart, to make us drift or let go, but there’s this stubborn, electric 'glue' that keeps us anchored. When we cut the vocals for this, I wanted to capture that pressurized feeling in your chest, like a blacksmith’s bellows. It started with that image of 'stardust and rust'—the idea that our highest dreams are always tangled up with our messy, concrete reality. It’s a song for anyone who has ever felt exhausted by the weight of the world but found a reason to keep their feet on the ground anyway.
