I wrote this song as a genuine thank-you note to the Lone Star State. I remember the exact moment we crossed the border, leaving the grey, shivering northern winters in the rearview mirror for good. There was something about that first sunset outside of Fort Worth—where the sky looks like God just tipped over a paint box—that made me feel like I finally had permission to breathe. We cut this track to capture that specific electricity you feel when your boots first hit the gravel in a place that finally feels like home. From the fiddles in Austin to the dance floors in El Paso, I wanted to bottle up that feeling of finding your rhythm in the iron-red soil and the heavy clay.
