I wrote this on a Tuesday night when the silence in my living room felt a lot louder than usual. I was looking at the headlines and some personal wreckage in my own life, and the typical platitudes just weren't cutting it anymore. We tracked this one with the intention of keeping that friction front and center; I didn't want the production to be too polished because the sentiment itself is jagged. It's about that uncomfortable space where you want to hold on to what you’ve always known, but your eyes are seeing something different. It’s probably the most vulnerable I’ve been on tape, just admitting that I don’t have the answers and I'm tired of pretending that I do.
