I wrote this one while I was driving back through the Pine Barrens, feeling that specific kind of Jersey restlessness where the horizon feels like a personal challenge. I was tired of playing nice and waiting for doors to open, so I started imagining a character who stopped asking for the keys and just melted down the lock. We cut this in a garage setting to keep that grease-stained, industrial rattle in the percussion. I wanted the listener to feel the weight of those steel-toed boots in the dust and that 'storm off the shore' energy. It’s about that moment you stop being the ghost of your past and decide to become the lightning bolt—it’s not about greed, it’s about the sheer gravity of a man who finally knows his worth.
