The story — in my words

I wrote this during a week when I felt completely out of sync with everything around me—like I was watching the world through a screen that kept flickering. I wanted to capture that high-voltage anxiety of feeling like the only 'real' thing in a room full of programmed responses. We tracked the guitars in a small, sweltering studio, pushing the amps until they literally started to buzz and hiss, which ended up being the perfect texture for that 'static in the marrow' feeling. It started as a poem about technology, but it turned into a defiant statement about reclaiming my own identity from the noise. It's for anyone who has ever looked at the sky and felt like they could see the seams pulling apart at the edges.
