"I Spotted Elvis Eating at a McDonald's" ©
by J. Michaels
The story — in my words
I was pulling into my local McDonald's one afternoon just looking for a quick lunch, and the sunlight hit the golden arches in a way that made me think about all the legends we refuse to let go of. I started laughing to myself, imagining what would happen if the most famous man in history just walked in, ordered a Big Mac, and sat down in a booth like any other regular guy. I wanted to capture that specific kind of American kitsch—the rhinestones, the sharp sideburns, and the tapping of blue suede shoes against a linoleum floor. It’s a song about the magic we find in the mundane and the fun of keeping a mystery alive, even if you can’t prove a thing. We tracked this with a bit of a retro kick to match that timeless pompadour energy.
