I wrote this one after spending several weekends watching the energy shift in a crowded honky tonk the second the line dancing started. There’s always that one couple where the guy is a little protective because his girl is the center of attention in her summer attire, and I wanted to capture that playful tension. I was imagining the sawdust on the floor and the neon lights reflecting off denim. It’s not just about the clothes or the dancing, though—it’s about that moment when you look past all the wandering eyes in the room just to reassure your person that they’re the only one you’re really there with. We cut this with a driving rhythm to make sure it felt like a Friday night regardless of when you hit play.
