The story — in my words
I wrote this during a season where it felt like the morning would never come. I was sitting in a room that felt heavy with everything I hadn’t said, watching the first bit of light hit the floorboards, and I realized I didn't have to carry the weight of my mistakes anymore. It started with that line about 'trembling hands' locking the past away. We cut this in the studio with the intention of making it feel like a slow ascent—starting in that quiet, shadowed room and ending in a place of total, soaring surrender. It’s about that specific moment when you stop fighting the current and finally let a higher love guide you toward the shore. To me, it’s not just a song; it’s a relief.
