I wrote this late one night when the air felt heavy with the things unsaid between two people who used to be inseparable. I was thinking about that tipping point in a relationship where you either let the fire go out or you fight like hell to stoke the embers. When we cut this in the studio, I wanted that 'step into the loving light' line to feel like a literal physical movement away from the shadows of the past. It started as a simple melody on my old acoustic, but it evolved into this urgent call to action. It isn't just about romance; it’s about the grit it takes to stay present when it’s easier to drift away. I wanted listener to feel that urgency in every note.
