The story — in my words

I wrote this song sitting on a rickety stool in a dim bar, watching the neon light buzz against the condensation on my glass. I was going through a period where I felt like the world was stuck in grayscale, just chasing shadows and running out of road. 'Kentucky Street Bourbon' started as a poem about that specific kind of loneliness that only tastes like cheap whiskey and bad decisions. But then I started thinking about that one person who can reach into the smoke and pull you back to the light. We tracked this with a raw, warm guitar tone because I wanted it to feel like it keeps you warm when the nights get cold. It’s a tribute to the kind of love that’s a little rough around the edges but absolutely strikes gold in the end.
