The story — in my words

I wrote this one while sitting in a cramped room off I-95, listening to the hum of a dying refrigerator and the low hiss of a TV with no signal. I was thinking about that specific kind of desperation—the moment you realize you can’t outrun yourself no matter how far you drive. We cut this track with a raw, almost claustrophobic energy to mimic that 'hollow man' feeling. The lines about the 'father’s rod' and the 'crooked spine' came from reflecting on generational weight and the violent urge to finally snap the thread. It’s a song for the middle of the night when the rain is hitting the motel roof and you're deciding whether to keep driving or just let the rust take over.
