The story — in my words

I wrote this song late one Tuesday when the rain wouldn't quit and the humidity felt like a physical weight on the porch. I was thinking about how we always look for healing in the mountains or some pristine forest, but sometimes, you find the most honest grace standing on a cracked sidewalk under a buzzing mercury light. We cut this track with a focused, slow-burn energy to capture that specific feeling of two people finally letting their guards down in the middle of the city noise. I wanted the guitars to sound like that wet asphalt looks—dark, reflective, and full of hidden light. It’s about the mercy you find in someone else’s eyes when you both realize you don’t have to carry the heavy stuff alone anymore. We found our own little cathedral right there between the streetlights.
