My Life Is Full Of Static ©
by J. Michaels
The story — in my words
I wrote this during a particularly grueling period of burnout where my brain felt like it had been replaced by a glitching GPS. I was driving toward a rehearsal space off a local park road, and the command to turn left just started looping in my head until it lost all meaning. It wasn't just about the directions; it was about that terrifying feeling that your life has become a series of automated, repetitive motions without any real signal getting through. We cut this in the studio with the intention of making the listener feel that same claustrophobia, building the tension with every repetition until the 'static' becomes the only thing you can hear. It’s a snapshot of a mind losing its grip on the steering wheel.
