The story — in my words
I wrote this one after a particularly exhausting month where it felt like everyone else’s crisis was somehow becoming my responsibility. Every time I turned around, a new fire was being thrown over my fence and I was expected to grab a bucket. I was sitting in my studio, just staring at the clutter of it all, and that old Polish proverb popped into my head. I started tracking these heavy, distorted chords that felt like the weight I was finally ready to drop. We cut the vocals in a single take because I wanted that raw, fed-up energy to lead the track. It’s not about being cold; it’s about acknowledging that I only have so much light to give, and I can't waste it fixing bulbs in a show I never signed up for.
