The story — in my words

I wrote this song at four in the morning when the world feels real thin and honest. I was thinking about how we measure a man’s worth by the weight of his wallet, but some of the richest people I know are just scraping by on a handful of nickels and a whole lot of hope. We cut this track to feel like that walk home after a double shift—tired, dusty, but looking for that one porch light that makes the struggle worth it. I wanted to capture the sound of copper coins rattling in a pocket against a heavy heart. It's about that moment when you realize you don't need a bankroll to settle your debts; you just need someone to take your hand and close the ledger.
