Pay My Bones ©

The story — in my words
I wrote this one while I was thinking about the physical weight of a guilty conscience. I wanted to capture that desperate, claustrophobic feeling of being trapped in a 'cave' of your own making, where the only way out is through back-breaking honesty. We cut this in a small room with the windows shut tight to get that stifling, dusty atmosphere you hear in the tracks. It’s not just about a literal mine; it’s about that moment when you realize you can't outrun your shadow anymore. You have to stay, work the ground, and literally 'pay your bones' to get back to the light. It’s a hard song, but I think there’s a lot of mercy in that final dawn.
