The story — in my words
I wrote this one after a restless night where the line between my imagination and the morning news felt thin. I was thinking about those old black-and-white clips of 'perfect' suburban life and how quickly that fragility can shatter. We cut the tracks to feel as heavy as the lyrics—aiming for that sense of walking through a quiet, ash-covered street where the only sound is your own breathing. It’s not just about the end of the world, though; it’s about that stubborn human instinct to keep dreaming and keep your soul intact even when the zoo walls are coming down and the sirens are wailing. I wanted to capture that specific kind of basement-hidden desperation and the grit it takes to eventually rise again.
