The story — in my words

I wrote this one while I was out on the edge of my property, looking at the old cedar posts my family set decades ago. There’s a specific kind of weight you feel when you realize you're the one responsible for the ground your grandfathers bled for. I was thinking about how easy it is for people to come along and try to change the rules or claim the fruit without ever putting in the sweat to tend the vine. We cut this track with a heavy, driving beat because I wanted it to feel like the strike of a hammer against a fence post. It’s not just a song about dirt; it’s about the boundary lines we draw to keep our history and our way of life from being dismantled by folks who don't understand the cost of the wire.
