The story — in my words

I wrote this one at my kitchen table during a period where I felt like the world had gone completely sideways. I was watching the news, seeing how the narrative was being pushed, and I realized I didn't recognize the person I was becoming under all that pressure. We cut this in the studio with the intention of making it feel like a weight being lifted. I wanted the guitars to sound as aggressive as that feeling of finally snapping out of a trance. It was important to me that the chorus felt like a victory lap because finding your own voice in a sea of scripted noise is the ultimate win. This is for anyone who stopped playing small and started asking the hard questions.
