I wrote this one late on a Tuesday night when the walls of my hometown felt like they were closing in on us. It seemed like everyone had an opinion on our relationship, and 'Run Away With Me' was my way of slamming the door on all that outside noise. I was thinking about those quiet state lines and the roar of the engine as a sort of sanctuary. We cut this in a small studio outside of town, keeping the guitars gritty and the tempo driving to match that feeling of a desperate, beautiful escape. It isn't just a song about a trip; it’s about that moment you realize your only loyalty is to the person sitting in the passenger seat. We finally stopped listening to the doubts and started listening to the road.
