The story — in my words

I wrote this one on a rainy Tuesday in my home studio after a heavy conversation that felt like the floor had just dropped out from under me. I was sitting there with my old Telecaster, thinking about how we spend our whole lives trying to build something solid, only for life to come along and rattle the foundation. We cut the tracks with a lot of heavy room reverb to capture that hollow, post-storm feeling. I wanted the transition from the verses to the bridge to feel like that moment you finally catch your breath after the dust settles. It’s a song about the debris we leave behind and the person we become when we finally stop shaking. It wasn't just a breakup song for me; it was about realizing that the cracks are where the light actually gets in.
