The story — in my words
I wrote 'Silent Riot' on a night when the room was perfectly still, but my mind felt like a crowded street at midnight. It’s about that specific frequency of anxiety where you look completely calm on the outside while a full-scale revolution is happening in your chest. When we tracked this in the studio, I told the band I wanted the percussion to feel like a heartbeat moving from a resting state to a panic, eventually breaking wide open. We avoided the traditional polished Nashville sound to keep a bit of grit in the guitars, mirroring that friction of wanting to scream but choosing to stay quiet. It’s a song for anyone who has ever had to smile through a storm they were fighting entirely alone.
