The story — in my words

I wrote this one while sitting in a studio apartment that felt way too quiet despite the city racket outside. You know that specific hum—the neon sign at the bar downstairs, the street sweeper at 4:00 AM—it all starts to sound like a countdown when you’re staring at the ceiling. I was thinking back to 2003, how a scent or a specific engine noise from a red-eye flight can just rip the floor out from under you. This wasn't about a person who left; it was about the person who stays in your head like graffiti that won't scrub off. We cut this track to feel like that heavy, concrete weight on your chest. I wanted to capture the contrast between the cold room and the 'billboard burning bright' of a memory that just refuses to dim.
